A few spots remain for this year’s exciting, adventure-filled summer day camps at John D. MacArthur Beach State Park, the only state park in Palm Beach County. It is located on Singer Island in North Palm Beach.
Among the offerings for outdoor lovers, aspiring rangers or future biologists are Eco-Explorers, Junior Rangers and Marine Biology.
Eco-Explorers is for children who have completed second or third grade. It will introduce campers to environmental concepts through interactive games and activities. Campers also will take part in outdoor recreational activities, including swimming and kayaking. The camp runs June 17 through 21 and July 15 through 19.
Junior Rangers is for students who have completed fourth or fifth grade. They will explore the maritime hammock, estuary, beach and dune, and rock reef. Campers will snorkel, swim and kayak throughout the week. The camp runs June 24 through 28 and July 29 through Aug. 2.
Marine Biology is for students who have completed sixth, seventh or eighth grade, and features exploration of the organisms of the coastal ecosystem, scientific investigations, a seagrass survey and a study of the estuary. The camp runs July 8 through 12 and July 22 through 26.
