Nicole Plunkett, the founder of Future Landscape Architects of America and a member of the Leadership Florida Connect 2023-24 program, was honored by Palm Beach North Chamber of Commerce.
Born and raised in Jupiter, Plunkett attended the University of Florida and interned at the landscape architecture firm Cotleur & Hearing. She eventually was hired by the company, leading her on the path to the title of Young Professional of the Year.
"Nicole is a true leader in northern Palm Beach County, helping to shape the landscape of the area by working with clients and municipalities to create value for all – the property owner, the local government and the public at large," said Noel Martinez, the chamber's president and CEO. "Her leadership and efforts have breathed life back into important properties in our region."
Since starting FLAA, a nonprofit dedicated to educating students about the field of landscape architecture, Plunkett has worked with more than 3,000 children from 40-plus educational institutions.
"Knowing what others have done for me in my career makes me want to do that for the next generation," she said. "It has been very rewarding to find professional fulfillment and success in the community I call home."
