The welcome return of Juno Beach’s popular Shakespeare by the Sea has arrived, with the first of eight performances getting under way at 8 p.m. Thursday.
This year’s masterpiece: Coriolanus. The tragic play tells the story of a riotous Rome and its hierarchical leader, Caius Martius. In true Shakespeare by the Sea fashion, the play will incorporate a modern, South Florida twist.
The remaining dates are July 12 through 14, and 18 through 21 at Seabreeze Amphitheater in Carlin Park. Gates open at 6:30 p.m., and guests are welcome to bring chairs, blankets and coolers to the free event.
Shakespeare by the Sea is presented by the Palm Beach Shakespeare Festival and the Palm Beach County Parks & Recreation Department.
