Nature Speaks brings inaugural Halloween Western Horse Exhibition to Jupiter Farms

October 20, 2015

Halloween and horses are in store for those who giddy-up to Golden L Ranch in Jupiter Farms on Oct. 31.

The free, family-focused fundraising affair will take place from 2 to 6 p.m. and feature a costume contest, games, horse painting, music, raffles and rides. Paid activities include a cow-horse exhibition plus food and beverages for sale and vendors offering an array of items.

Dr. Douglas Dedo, a sponsor of the Halloween Western Horse Exhibition, said, "This is a unique opportunity to see how these magnificent rescued animals bond with children and young adults. These horses, in fact, rescue and empower the less fortunate to meet the challenges in life.”

Nature Speaks, the nonprofit staging the show, offers educational and empowerment programs with rescued horses to adults and children experiencing challenges in life. It has field trips for summer camps, nonriding programs for the disabled, workshops for church groups and obstacle courses for recovery facilities. The organization also sponsors cattle drives, riding lessons, team-building and family workshops.

“The volunteers at Nature Speaks are so grateful for the support from our sponsors and the community,” Executive Director Rachel Ibarra said. “Without this help, the nonprofit could not support the rescued horses and offer the low-cost programs that are unique at Nature Speaks."
