Local arts group helps Haitian Organization for Health Services with ‘A Blast of Color’

May 14, 2013

The Artists Association of Jupiter and Unique Glass Art sponsored their monthly art exhibit and sale, “A Blast of Color,” to help raise awareness and funds for the Haitian Organization for Health Services, a nonprofit entity based in New York.

The Haitian Organization for Health Services was founded in 1993, by a group of healthcare workers concerned about the deterioration of the medical system in Haiti. The mission of the charity is to provide comprehensive services that will promote and preserve the health of Haitian residents.

“A Blast of Color” will run through the end of May, with 10 percent of sales from the two featured artists -- Lynne Bernay-Roman and Raymonde Talleyrand. Bernay-Roman paints in acrylics on canvas, and Talleyrand is a digital photographer.

The Artists Association of Jupiter is a collaboration of creatives who work together to promote awareness of art and arts education. Its venue, A Unique Art Gallery, opened its doors in June of 2010.
