For the first time in its 10-year history, Healing Touch Buddies has a waiting list for services. The nonprofit organization that offers certified energy therapy to breast-cancer patients needs both funding to keep pace and volunteers to provide the hands and hearts.
“Have you or someone you love or care about been challenged with a diagnosis of breast cancer and need extra support to cope?” asked Betty Ann Baker, Healing Touch Buddies’ co-founder and executive director. “Help us carry our program into the next decade with an end-of-the-year gift.”
Tax-deductible donations will support the charity’s scholarship funds that provide training and certification for volunteers and education about – and advocacy for – advancing breast health naturally.
Healing touch is a proven practice that calms the mind, relaxes the body and nurtures the spirit through gentle techniques. Benefits include easing anxiety, decreasing pain, strengthening the immune system and creating a sense of well-being.
“This time of year, many charities are competing for your end-of-year giving,” Baker said. “Wouldn’t you like to contribute to our cause?”
