Angus Appointed Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center Administrator

Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center announces that Jolyn M. Angus has been appointed as the hospital’s new chief nursing officer. In her new role, Angus will be responsible for the overall leadership and oversight of all nursing departments at the 199-bed acute care hospital.

“Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center welcomes Ms. Angus to its administrative team, and we look forward to her leadership as we strive to continuously improve our level of nursing service and ability to provide high quality, compassionate health care to our patients,” says Mike Cowling, chief executive officer of Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center.

Angus has been employed within the Tenet Healthcare hospital network since 2002, where she has consistently increased her responsibilities and success as a hospital administrator.

Most recently, Angus served as chief nursing officer for John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital in Indio, California from 2008-2011. During her tenure, Angus was responsible for restructuring the nursing department to increase efficiencies and improve quality metrics. Under her leadership, John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital received one of Tenet’s Inaugural Clinical Innovation Awards in 2011 with their project: “Clinical Process Improvement Project to Prevent Delayed Identification of Neonatal Sepsis.”

Prior to her work at John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital, Angus held the positions of assistant chief nursing officer and director of critical care, emergency and telemetry departments at South Fulton Medical Center in Atlanta, Georgia.

Angus earned her Diploma in nursing from Kingston School of Nursing in Kingston, Jamaica and Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Clayton State College in Morrow, Georgia. She continued her education to complete her Master of Business Administration from Georgia State University in Atlanta. She is currently enrolled in a Doctorate of Nursing Practice at the University of Illinois.
