Sculpture Supports Palm Beach Garden’s Art in Public Places Program.
Nova Southeastern University (NSU) will unveil a sculpture of an 18-foot Mako shark (the university's mascot) at the entrance of NSU’s Palm Beach Student Educational Center (SEC) on Tuesday, May 8. The head of the shark, bursting out of the pavers, is 4 foot, 6 inches high and features polished bronze teeth. At the other end, is 36 inches of tail, also bursting out.
This major creation was commissioned by NSU in support of Palm Beach Garden’s Art in Public Places Program and was crafted by international wildlife sculptor Kent Ullberg.
The unveiling of “NSU Underground Shark” will occur at the Palm Beach SEC’s facility at 5:30 p.m. The Center will also host an Open House immediately following the unveiling where prospective students can meet faculty and staff and tour the facility.
