Oakwood Center of the Palm Beaches has a new name: Jerome Golden Center for Behavioral Health.
The renaming comes on the heels of a charitable gift from Palm Beach Gardens resident Jerome Golden.
Local leaders and center supporters gathering for a dedication ceremony, at which West Palm Beach Mayor Jeri Muoio presented Golden with a key to the city.
"This was a very special day, as we celebrated the renaming of our center to the Jerome Golden Center for Behavioral Health, with our supporters and local leaders in the community," said Dr. Linda De Piano, CEO of the center. "Jerry's donation comes at a time of reduced funding for nonprofit organizations."
For 40 years, the center has provided behavioral health services to residents of northern, western and central Palm Beach County. Its mission is to help clients build resiliency, facilitate recovery and achieve reintegration into the community by designing and delivering behavioral-health, mental-health and substance-abuse services that meet their needs and expectations.
