North Palm Beach resident and health-care entrepreneur Elizabeth Fago has joined the Systems Biology Advisory Council at Harvard Medical School. The council represents a broad spectrum of health-care professions and offers advice to the school’s leadership.
Jeffrey Flier, dean of Harvard Medical School, invited Fago to serve on the council. The council meets twice annually to evaluate research projects and give constructive opinions to faculty members and students.
At her first meeting, Fago was selected to evaluate two presentations on systems pharmacology.
“I am privileged to be a part of this exciting program,” said Fago, founder of Home Quality Management, one of the largest, private health-care companies in the United States. “It is an opportunity to take part in initiatives that will improve health care in the future.”
Fago's latest venture is Palm Health Partners, which operates the Institute for Aging, Life Science and Research at Abacoa in Jupiter, among others.
Former Gov. Jeb Bush appointed Fago to the board of the Health Care District of Palm Beach County, and she also served on the Florida Medical Association’s Council on Ethical and Judicial Affairs. A strong supporter of Scripps Florida, Fago is the namesake of the research-facility's library.
