The Beyond Blind Institute, a year-old nonprofit organization that empowers visually impaired and blind men and women by providing health, fitness, technical skills and lifestyle enhancement, has appointed members to its Executive Board and Development Committee.
Founder and Executive Director Joyce Guge conducted the honors. The Executive Board includes Dr. Andrew Moshfeghi, medical director of the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Palm Beach Gardens; attorney Daniel Probst; accountant Todd Schanel; and dietician Penny Levy. Development Committee members are Tom Fallone, Fitness Director; Vanessa Hewko, Fitness Trainer; Nicole Sedito, Yoga Instructor; Tom Fox, Sightless Chef Director; Kim Butler, Certified Nutritional Counselor; Paula Cellar, Mental Health Counselor; Heather Jandourek, Administrative Assistant; Sharon Bennett, Public Relations; Diana Sedito, Event Coordinator; and Sheila Quatro, Illustrator and Website Specialist.
The Beyond Blind Institute offers a twice-weekly Bodies Beyond Blindness fitness program, which includes cardio and weight training, yoga and nutritional counseling. The Sightless Chef program will provide culinary-arts classes for the visually impaired and blind. Plans are underway for the Beauty Beyond Blindness salon and Dancing Out of Darkness studio.
